The legendary route

The route of the Grossglockner mountain run, which takes place from 09 to 11 July 2021, leads through all alpine vegetation levels - from the typical cultural landscape up to the high alpine glacier region. After the start the participants run through the village until they reach the end of the valley of Heiligenblut. There the route leads to the Sattelalm and on to the Bricciuskapelle. Via the Trogalm, the Pasterze, the longest glacier in the Eastern Alps, is crossed. The finish is on the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe. A total of 1,265 metres of altitude difference will be covered over a distance of almost 13 kilometres. In 2021 the Grossglockner mountain run is limited to 900 participants and is expected to be sold out as in previous years.
